It’s been a perfect few days of weather here in the Telo Islands, to welcome our new guests. Resort Latitude Zero team member from 2009 Stu Bates has returned for a holiday with his friends accompanied by legendary photographer Swilly behind the lens capturing all the moments of the trip. The swell has been on the smallish side but head high waves have been scored in the right locations, with the clear skies and lack of winds allowing us to surf a variety of breaks already. Fingers crossed for the predicted bump in the swell to arrive today, and to continue to build for some Sumatran magic later in the week. Also be sure to tune into Ry Craike's new series "Fish Out Of The Water" airing tonight 7:30pm on Fuel TV with an episode being filmed on location at Resort Latitude Zero and on board the Mangalui Ndulu. Straight off the plane into some classic fun size tubes, not a bad way to start a week at Resort Latitude Zero. With great conditions and a lingering Sumatran swell it has provided a flurry of waves throughout Indonesia over the past few weeks. Many guests mentioning that they are stoked to leave there wetsuits at home and slip into some warm tropical water. Goodtimes

The past few days in the Telo Islands we have started to see a rise in swell. Resort Latitude Zero guests are happily fine tuning their boards in some classic rights for what may be on offer in the next day or so. Shapping up to be a great week of solid waves.

Surf Report – Blue Pools

Blue Pools . . . Adventurous guests Cruiky, GT, Col and Vianney have discovered the legendary 'Blue Pools'. With our own local guide Firman "Firy" leading the team of adventurers deep into the Sumatran Jungle here in the Telo Islands. It was a beautiful sunny day and the team set off early after a big breakfast to avoid the midday heat. Our smaller boat Lat 2 (6.2m center console, 70hp) was perfect for the task allowing the team to drive up river inland closer to their destination. After taking the boat as far as possible, it was 'two feet and a heart beat' to get the rest of the way. The jungle trek was full of super sized ferns, lush green palms and excited monkeys wondering what these humans were doing in their neck of the woods. When the team broke through the jungle to the view of the 'Blue Pools' they were amazed at the sight. The ‘Blue Pools’ consisting of beautiful turquoise blue water, highlighted by the surrounding lush green jungle. Clear cool fresh water was awaiting the heated trekkers and they wasted no time in diving into the mirage like pool. Enjoying the tranquility and floating peacefully in their discovery, momentarily was disrupted by a Cruiky dive bomb (typical). This sent a wave not only through the pools but the jungle canopy the local monkeys screaming and sent into a spin. Can only imagine that they thought this large beast was here to claim their land. Back down river and the adventure was not over. The tide had come in and the river level was higher with a low bridge to pass under it was apparent there would be some waiting to do to provide clearance for the boat canopy. The packed lunch and cold drinks, which were made short, work of and then a village tour was underway. The crew strolled through the local villages meeting school kids and curious locals. The tide receded enough and with the aid of a bunch of school kids onboard to weigh the boat down the bridge was passed. A boat ride home and a successful trip out for the day, well done. -Chad

This week at Resort Latitude Zero we started off with a nice size swell to greet the new guests. Things have tampered down midweek and looking to rise again into the medium, overhead range through the weekend. Plenty of fun size stuff to keep everyone wet and happy. The great weather and light winds opening up various surf locales around the Telo Island chain. - Chad

It has been a great couple of days at Resort Latitude Zero with our guests enjoying fun sized waves at a few of our favorite locations. Yesterday saw a rise in swell, delivering consistent head high sets throughout the afternoon. Once again putting "smiles on dials" as the guests cruised back to the Resort, with icy a cold beer in hand to top off another fun day in the Telo Islands. - Joely

Too many waves is definitely the best problem out here! Its been a great few days in the Telo Islands with ideal weather conditions offering a number of different locations ranging from super fun to beyond. The Resort Latitude Zero guests have been in the water constantly, making the most of it and surfing themselves out. Yesterday it was the call to come back to the Resort early for lunch and an afternoon of massages and relaxing around the pool. Today it’s the same again, with a surfing filled morning followed by a trip to the local town to see the sights for the afternoon. - Joely

Our Resort Latitude Zero guests where off at first light again today eager to hit the water after listening to the building swell all night. The first stop offered hollow Telo Island rights as we paddled out for the morning session. After a few hours of barrels it was a 20 minute speedboat ride to the next stop for the day where long, glassy, walling lefts were on offer, and carved up all afternoon. Gillianne was feeling right at home at her favorite wave in the Island chain and Jed paddled into some bombs to score the waves of his trip. An awesome day and stoked grins ear to ear as we headed back to the resort to rest up and do it all again the next day. - Joely
