THE TENDER (Boomerang)

Boomerang is a 7.0 meter aluminum-plate construction speedboat. Amenities include full-shade canopy with centre console, leaving plenty of room for boards, bags, etc and a large cool box full of cold beers, water, soft drinks, juices and snacks.

Boomerang is a very versatile boat and great for fishing, diving, or getting into all the small reef passes and channels throughout these Sumatran waters.

Nomad keel was laid in 1995 on the sands of Tanah Beru. A small, traditional Pinisi style boat building community on the Island of Sulawesi and first launched in 1996. It was acquired by Todd in 1997. After an 8 month overhaul and fit out she set sail on her maiden voyage through the wave rich Islands of Eastern Indonesia. Things were pretty hardcore on board back then, a true sailing adventure  to the corners of the earth. In 1998 Cpt. Todd sailed her across the top of Java where the Nomad found a home surfing the world class reef breaks littered around the Islands in the Sunda Straight.

Nomad surfed and chartered in this area for over a decade with countless epic sessions and good times, before once again moving further north to the islands off West Sumatra in 2008. Truly a nomadic vessel. She has returned to Tanah Beru only once in all her years afloat.

Our boat captains are all fully ticketed to international standards, with 2 qualified crew on board at all times for maximum safety and service whilst at sea.
