As we continue our reflection on 2020 – The Year That Wasn’t!, we share a rundown for those of you out there wondering how we are going out here at Resort Latitude Zero in 2020. Here’s what has been happening in JULY at Resort Latitude Zero. Also check out our other 2020 updates.

July 2020 will go down as one of the best months any of us have had surfing in a long time.

Swell after swell stacked the forecasts and predominant wind patterns shifting to favour the magic world class right handers of Telo. One particularly memorable week mid month saw all boards under 7” stay well and truly racked and the domain of peak season big wave guns only.

Plenty of niggling injuries were starting to take their toll after 3-4 months of non stop surfing and some days became survival of the fittest and often ended in leaving perfect empty line ups after long sessions totally exhausted and aching all over.

Late July saw the provisional opening of passenger transport between the mainland and the islands for the first time and thoughts turned to our domestic travel options again in the hope of establishing some normality to our families’ lives despite the ongoing problems Indonesia faced tackling the pandemic and the non stop run of epic and empty waves we would be leaving behind.

Check out some of the surfing action below from an amazing run of swell in Indonesia during July 2020, “The Year That Wasn’t”.
