This week started much as the last ended with light winds, blue skies, plenty of swell and some very memorable surf sessions indeed, but our run of amazing waves and weather ended abruptly mid week with severe storms lashing the island chain for 48 hours straight turning the ocean into a complete mess for a few days.

While still plenty of residual ground swell about, the wind slop rendered all but the most protected reef breaks unrideable for a couple of days.

We expect the equatorial low pressure system generating the local winds and storms to pass quickly and we are starting to get excited for our first genuine “south” swell for 2022 currently sneaking up the west coast of Australia and showing on our surf radar towards the end of the weekly forecasting period.
