The annual Lennox Heads Dads n sons voyage kicked off with clean, Sumatran pipes, scorin’ goals on every play, leaving the rest of the teams for dead as the boys racked up barrel after barrel all over the chain. For Tom , there was no point even keeping track of the score, as our striker, ducked n’ weaved his way through the green, grey , black n blue. Then there was the play Doogs made close to fulltime when he plucked off that unicorn to be bathed in glory. Paddled back out, took one more pass then just walked straight off the field, donned his cowboy hat and set upon the Bintangs with gusto for the rest of the arvo to celebrate.
At the top of the ladder, well into the season, we can safely say the Mango has pulled off a clean sweep again this year and there’s really no point in holding a final at all. Last year the struggling other teams blamed the southerlys, this year the northerlys, others the crowds. It’s plain to see they simply need to learn some new tricks. Well that about wraps it up for this week. From all of us here on the Mango News team, I’m Captain Mark Burgundy. You stay classy San Diego.
