Although the conditions have been tricky the guests at Resort Latitude Zero have been scoring perfect rights and lefts around the Island chain. The moon is in a waxing gibbous phase which means limited tide movement around the Telo Islands, Sumatra. This usually equates to more water time because we don’t see the extreme high and low tides that can often over power a swell.
A nice bump at the swell at the start of the weekend turned on a few old favourites and gave the natural footers a chance to surf some long-awaited right handers. We have some families staying with us at the moment and mom is taking a well-deserved break from the children and laying down some stylish turns.
The SE winds continue to blow but we should see an easing trend as the week progresses. The surf forecast is showing a drop in the swell for Monday and Tuesday, but we should start to see the beginning of a new ground swell by Wednesday morning.
This swell is followed by a stronger swell that will finish of the week with a bang. Check back with us mid-week to see what we are surfing.
